Follow on Google News | Tekron forms new OEM Business UnitTekron International today announced the formation of a new business unit to focus on manufacturing OEM versions of its products and to license its IEEE 1588 Clock and Switch technology to other manufacturers.
Commenting on this new unit, Ian Mills, Tekron’s Managing Director, said: “This business unit will build on our past success with licensing our technology to other companies. We have timed the formation of this unit to coincide with the completion of a number of IEEE 1588 products, including an Ethernet switch and a number of clocks. We are very excited by the quality and number of products that we have to offer.” Brian Smellie, Tekron’s Technical Director, said: “We have a proven track record for developing very good products in very short time periods. An example of this is the development of our IEEE 1588 products. By offering our products to other manufacturers on an OEM or licensing basis we will be able to market our products more widely than by selling them directly ourselves. We have followed this path previously with success and plan to expand it for the future.” Tekron’s range of IEC 61850 compatible clocks including the complete range of new IEEE 1588 products are available for OEM or licensing. These include clocks offering sub-microsecond timing accuracy over Ethernet networks, the new IEEE 1588 switches and the very popular new Dual Clock. Charles Norwood, Tekron’s Marketing Manager, has been appointed to head up the OEM Business Unit. # # # We develop GPS clocks and time sync devices for use in industry - mainly the power industry - where time is needed to be measured in micro and nanoseconds.
