Sept. 17, 2009 - PRLog -- Every year thousands of people get lost outdoors. Some experience disastrous results simply because nobody knew they were missing. GPS, cell phones and other electronic emergency devices can provide a false sense of safety. Travel experts explain that there is one basic item that many skip when planning their outdoor trip. A new website simplifies that one item with 21st century technology.

TrailNote.com simplifies and updates the expert advice of “Always leave a note describing when, where and for how long you will be gone.” The free website was developed after an owner of the company experienced his own close call with travel safety. “I was out on a trail one day and my vehicle broke down. It was a very remote road, not well traveled, and I neglected to tell anyone where I would be,” says Richard Visokey. “Had I not been able to get my vehicle running, my trip would probably have had a much different ending. Nobody would have had a clue where to start looking for me, let alone that I was missing.”

TrailNote.com allows users to create an online ‘Trip Profile’. Name the trip, provide a travel description, give a start and end time, and mark your destination on a digital map. Users also enter the email or text message addresses of people to notify. If you do not return on time, TrailNote electronically informs your contacts and provides them your detailed trip information.

Easily accessible from any web browser or web-enable phone, TrailNote.com provides a much needed resource for any adventurer. It prevents a seemingly simple outing from becoming a tragic ending.

If you would like more information about trailnote.com and its innovative technology or to schedule an interview please contact Richard Visokey at 602-539-6977 or email rich@trailnote.com
