Aug. 31, 2009 - PRLog -- U.S. businesses can learn valuable lessons from the Boeing-Airbus competition, according to business-performance consultant and columnist, Biz Coach Terry Corbell.

He includes his analysis in his column entitled, "Airbus-Boeing Rivalry: Lessons in Strategic Planning.” It is published on The Biz Coach: http://www.bizcoachinfo.com, “Proven Solutions for Maximum Profits.”

Mr. Corbell, as a Seattle-based business-coaching columnist, has observed the see-saw competition for several years. He doesn’t believe either company has exhibited stellar strategic planning.

“The Boeing and Airbus quests for dominance have been quite a roller-coaster ride for both with no end in sight,” predicts Mr. Corbell. “The history of their competition provides a good case study for best-practices in strategic planning.”

How can a smaller business capitalize on the Boeing-Airbus case study and maximize performance with strategic planning?

“Strategic planning starts with a SWOT analysis: Analyzing your internal strengths, weaknesses along with your external opportunities and threats,” The Biz Coach explains. “There are 10 categories of strengths and weaknesses that need to be examined.”

Mr. Corbell’s column also advises assessing six external factors. They range from socio-cultural to politics.

“Once the SWOT analysis has been completed, you can develop and implement your strategic plan,” he writes.

He also discloses his “do’s” and “don’ts” of strategic planning.

The profit professional has systems and strategies to relieve a company's financial stress, which includes a financial turnaround program on a pay-for-performance basis. Mr. Corbell provides complete solutions for a small retainer and one percent of the net-profit increase.
