The AMA KTM Buckhorn National Dual Sport, September 12th and 13th - Lake Shasta, CA

Aug. 31, 2009 - PRLog -- Ride Description:
Starting with gear drop off and registration at The Basshole in Lakehead, the route will take riders to Mt. Shasta for an overnight stay with gear transport and a Saturday evening get together and then return to the staging area at the Basshole in Lakehead, CA on Sunday afternoon. This will be a GPS only ride. Pre- Entry only and there will be a 250 rider limit. There will be a GPS instructional on Friday evening.


Route Description:
The route will be 125-140 miles each day consisting of historic pack mule technical singletrack , jeep roads, and a low percentage of asphalt (15%). This will be an enduro style route with gas and food support on day 1. Day 2 will lead riders through several gas and food options where riders will eat and refuel where they choose. *Remember - Day 2 riders are responsible for their own meals and gas. There will be 3 options for meals and gas on day 2, hopefully this will cut down on lines at the small gas stations and delis in the Trinity area. Yes, there are bailouts to asphalt.


Needed:
GPS skills, Small gear bag with over night supplies, meals and gas on  day 2 and Saturday night dinner in Mt. Shasta. Street legal dual sport motorcycle with current registration and motorcycle license. There will be a sound/tech check by BRC.
