Follow on Google News | Newsweek Abortion Article Draws Wildfire of ResponsesA Newsweek article by a reporter who witnessed an abortion has touched off a firestorm of replies.
Newsweek’s website posted a long discussion by readers about whether abortion laws should remain so permissive. Other posts talked about whether choices must be made between the life of the mother and the life of the fetus. The replies reflect a wide range of opinions, including that of one woman, with a username of SandiCecelia, who said, “After you've had an abortion, the hard part comes when you give birth to your first child. The guilt of what you previously did sets in like a wildfire, and continues with you the rest of your life, even after you've asked the forgiveness of God.” “Prolifers Confuse Me” Another person, Tempnewsweeker said, “Prolifers confuse me. Everyday you eat all sorts of animals that had lives and dreams and emotions and yes, family. You don't care about killing them and eating them. Yet you care so much about a fetus that hasn't even formed and doesn't even have cognitive thought yet.” Jakeslaw, another reader who referred to the distraught feeling of the reporter, Sarah Kliff, over the experience and the reluctance among her friends to talk about the abortion, wrote, “The bottom line is that when confronted with the reality of death, the reporter did not like it. … she realizes that no one really likes to discuss the cold deadly reality of killing a pre-born child in the womb.” Women in Berwyn, Cicero, Stickney, N.
