Marco Island, FL, Selects EnerGov Solutions for Enterprise Land Management Software

Aug. 31, 2009 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA  – EnerGov announced today that Marco Island, Florida’s Community Development Department has signed with EnerGov Solutions to provide Enterprise Land Management and Permitting software.

As the largest of Florida’s Gulf-Coast barrier islands, Marco Island’s population triples every year during the winter months as “northerners” escape to this beautiful postcard environment.

EnerGov’s agreement with Marco Island also includes mobile field inspection software allowing inspectors to be completely automated and more efficient  as well as a web portal to offer real-time results and transparency to the constituents of Marco island.  

"The goal of the Community Development Department is to improve both service to our citizens and efficiency and effectiveness of staff through the use of a land management and permitting software system,” said Gretchen Baldus, Marco Island’s GIS Manager.  “We plan to implement a GIS-integrated solution that will automate many departmental functions and provide the user with immediate access to all permits, code cases, planning projects, scanned photos or documents, and all other land records related to a specific location.  This will eliminate the need to search through a host of disparate spreadsheets and files, thereby greatly improving workflow.

“We also plan to introduce several new e-government services,” Ms Baldus added, “saving hundreds of hours spent with routine tasks such as updating callers on the status of a permit or inspection, handling reports of a code violation, and submitting renewals for home-based businesses.  A new land management system will transform how the Community Development Department operates."
