Follow on Google News | Singing Rooster Nonprofit teams up with Haitian Mountain Blue Coffee for Delicious Resultwww.SingingRooster.org supports Haiti by selling Haitian Mountain Blue Coffee; 100% of Singing Rooster's proceeds go BACK to Haiti to build economic infrastructures based, in part, on coffee.
By: Fainting Goat: Madison's Web Designer fgoat.com 100% of Singing Rooster's proceeds go BACK to Haiti to help build self-sustaining communities where the Rooster support schools, clinics, pay nurses, devise clean water, and help develop economic infrastructures through education, job training & agriculture - like coffee growing. According to Singing Rooster’s organizer, Molly Nicaise, “Coffee is a no-brainer. People drink coffee by the gallons every year. Haiti ALREADY has the capability of becoming a world-class coffee exporter. So selling great tasting coffee to folks who love a rare bean becomes an obvious answer.” Their Haitian Mountain Bleu coffee comes from the same plant & is grown in the same region as the wildly successful Jamaican Blue - but at a fraction of the price. Singing Rooster partners with Fair Traders; they support Haitian farmers & purchase beans directly from grower coops. They collect funding for coffee seedlings and for training on growing coffee sustainably. Coffee farmers are encouraged to follow sound bio-diverse cultivation practices by growing coffee without chemicals which Haitians already do [put simply, most Haitian farmers can't afford them anyway], on shaded ground [vs. clear cutting], and other bio-responsible practices. Even in tough times, people buy coffee. Buying a rare bean at a reasonable price and for a great reason, is as she said earlier, a no-brainer. # # # www.SingingRooster.org supports Haiti by selling Haitian Mountain Blue Coffee; 100% of Singing Rooster's proceeds go BACK to Haiti to build economic infrastructures based, in part, on coffee.
