Aug. 25, 2009 - PRLog -- Until the end of the month (Aug), visitors to the Cat Professional website (http://www.catprofessional.com) who purchase a copy of any of the titles in the ‘Caring for a cat’ series will receive the interactive eBook version completely free (worth £7.00).

The eBooks contain the same content as the printed versions of the titles, but with the added benefit of being easily searchable.  The invaluable ‘Glossary of terms used by vets’ really comes into its own in the interactive eBooks, as readers can simply click on the word to be immediately taken to the correct explanation in the glossary.

Cat Professional’s founder and Chief Executive, Dr Sarah Caney commented;
“Owning the interactive eBook as well as the book itself will be of great benefit to cat owners and veterinary professionals who use the books as a resource.  The eBooks compliment the printed versions perfectly as they are so easy to search for certain words or phrases.  For example the reader may wish to quickly find a particular medicine reference or treatment and it’s particularly easy to do this in the interactive eBooks”

Readers wishing to take advantage of the offer should visit the Cat Professional website (www.catprofessional.com) and enter the text CPAUG09 during checkout when purchasing a soft-back version of any of the titles.

With Dr Caney’s internationally recognised expertise in feline medicine it’s no surprise that fellow authors in the ‘Caring for a cat’ series are also experts in their respective fields.   Professor Danièlle Gunn-Moore, co-author of ‘Caring for a cat with lower urinary tract disease’ lectures internationally on feline health and is Professor of Feline Medicine at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh.

‘Caring for a blind cat’ was written by Natasha Mitchell who holds the esteemed Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology.  She also established Eye Vet (www.eyevet.ie) which is a dedicated veterinary ophthalmology referral clinic in her home country of Ireland.

The ‘Caring for a cat’ series was launched in 2008 with ‘Caring for a cat with kidney failure’.   Since then ‘Caring for a cat with lower urinary tract disease’ and ‘Caring for a blind cat’ have followed with international sales of more than 4000 copies.  September 2009 sees the eagerly anticipated launch of ‘Caring for a cat with hyperthyroidism’.  Cat Professional plan to expand the series with two or three new titles each year and are also keen to speak to partners wishing to sponsor translation of the books into other languages.  Currently ‘Caring for a cat with kidney failure’ is available as a German translation and there is strong interest from several European countries as well as Japan for native translations of the books.
