Kyoto Protocol created market based incentives and instruments that form a major part of carbon market. Today, the Carbon market has evolved greatly in terms in of size and variety of transactions, standing at a whopping $125 billion.
India is one of the leaders in carbon trade and the second largest suppliers of Certified Emission Reductions (Carbon Credits) worldwide. Both carbon trade and carbon finance are now mainstream components of a financial institution’s activities.
