Aug. 21, 2009 - PRLog -- Alex who is from Hove, will not only feature in the shop’s promotional materials but also wins some fantastic prizes including designer spectacles from Brighton duo Booth and Bruce, a choice of stylish sunglasses and a day’s pampering from Spruce in Kemp Town.

The winner was announced at an event to celebrate Frames in the Lanes first year anniversary and was attended by competition finalists, customers, partners, friends and local media. The judges made their shortlist earlier in the week and were impressed with many of the entrants, some of which came from across Sussex and London.

Paul Soper, Booth and Bruce:
“Frames in the Lanes have set themselves apart by developing a unique idea which has provided a great way to engage customers and visitors to the shop whilst at the same time raising money for Pride. It’s been fun to review the entrants and the judges feel we have chosen the right ‘face’ for the shop’s funky designer image.”

The competition was launched on Friday 9th July and invited entrants to go into the shop on Meeting House Lane and have their photo taken wearing some designer frames. The idea behind it was to raise the profile of the shop both locally and online, to promote footfall and encourage new visitors to the shop and to generally provide an interesting way to interact above and beyond the usual advertising methods.

Co-owners Bernadette Fitzsimons and Freya Huntley are delighted with the results of the competition which attracted over a hundred entrants, and with their new model who had some initial promotional shots taken prior to and during the champagne reception. They now plan to potentially run it as an annual event.

Bernadette comments:
“We’ve got a great range of stylish and quirky frames and so we wanted a way to promote our products that reflected our ‘boutique’ ethos. We pride ourselves on fantastic customer service and I think the competition has demonstrated that we are willing to look at all kinds of ways to make customer and visitors to the shop feel special. Working with Alex by featuring him. rather than fashion models, shows that our customers really are at the heart of our business and that their style is our style and vice versa.”

Alex was delighted by his win:
“I can’t believe I won! I think it was a great competition and I look forward to working with Frames in the Lanes as well as enjoying my fabulous prizes!”
