Aug. 17, 2009 - PRLog -- Leading online fashion retailer YesStyle.com proudly lent its support to the 24th Miss Asian America pageant held August 8, 2009 at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre in San Francisco, California. The competition drew 23 candidates from diverse backgrounds across the United States, all vying for the title of Miss Asian America 2009-2010. In the end, Amy Chanthaphavong of New York, New York won the coveted title.

As one of the event's sponsors, YesStyle.com believes that creativity and culture are key to promoting a positive image of Asians, both in America and overseas. The online retailer's comprehensive collection of lifestyle and fashion products from designers across Asia brings awareness of Asian designs and brands to a global audience, promoting diversity through the universal language of fashion.

"Our participation in the 24th Miss Asian America pageant emphasizes our belief that Asians have a rich, colorful and vibrant culture that can be seen in our lifestyles," said Joshua Lau, founder and CEO of YesStyle.com. "From Hong Kong to Japan and South Korea, Asians are trendsetters when it comes to fashion that reflects a mix of the traditional and the contemporary. The Miss Asian America pageant believes in transcending borders, and YesStyle.com shares that belief."

Celebrating "Beauty, Elegance, and Culture", the Miss Asian America pageant has served as an advocate for the Asian community since 1985, supporting causes relevant to Asian Americans while expanding the role of Asians on the global stage. Besides promoting goodwill and a positive image of Asian Americans, the pageant organizers and participants continue to spread awareness about Hepatitis B and liver cancer, which affects as many as 1 in every 10 Asian and Pacific Islanders in America.

“Amy Chanthaphavong, our Miss Asian America 2009-2010, is a fashion design student at Parsons. It is fitting that YesStyle – a premier retailer of Asian fashion and lifestyle products – is a partner and our queen is a fashion designer," said Miss Asian America pageant founder Rose Chung. "I know that YesStyle will continue to support up-and-coming lifestyle trends in America and Miss Asian America is excited about YesStyle’s new ventures in the US.”

In addition to its online platform, YesStyle will be opening their first retail store in the San Francisco Bay Area in late September 2009. Newly crowned Miss Asian America Amy Chanthaphavong is expected to be in attendance for the opening festivities.
