Monster Lobster Spotted During Florida Lobster Season Opening week

In the past we have caught lobsters up to 12 lbs. This year I spotted a huge lobster in the back of the ledge.

Aug. 11, 2009 - PRLog -- My family and I have been fishing the Florida keys for lobsters for about 10 years. We had fun because the kids did not need scuba to go down and catch lobsters. At 10 they could hold their breath and tickle out a lobster. Reports from my friends were good this year saying the lobsters and spearfishing was good. We did not make it down to the keys but were able to do mini lobster season up near St. Augustine. The visibility was only about 15 feet and the lobsters were few. We got several 4 to 7 pounder's and few nice fish. In the past we have caught lobsters up to 12 lbs. This year I spotted a huge lobster in the back of the ledge. He was out of the ledge when I got there but ... I was like "Barney" on the Andy Griffin show when he is trying to find his bullet for his gun. I dropped my tickle stick, got my net caught on a rock and by the time I looked back, the monster lobster had moved back too far for me to get. He is probably still there, it was fun just getting the chance to try and catch him. My son swam by me with a cobia and a couple of nice lobsters. We had fun.
