ITINERARY

Day 1 –
Arrive Cairo – meet and assist by Go Egypt Travel representative - transfer to your hotel and overnight.  

Day 2 –
Cairo – breakfast - visit the pyramids and Sphinx at Giza Plateau. Afterward you will enjoy a camel ride across the desert sands. Then proceed to visit the Step Pyramid of Sakkara and the ancient city of Memphis. Overnight - Cairo

Day 3 –
Cairo - Aswan- breakfast - venture in search of the treasures of King Tutankhamen, mummies and more at the Egyptian Museum. Later enjoy a tour to the Islamic Citadel of Saladin with views looking down over the old city, watching people go about their daily life. Conclude the day with a market walk through the bustling Khan el-Khalili bazaar. Transfer to take the sleeper train to Aswan. Dinner and overnight - sleeper train.  

Day 4 –
Aswan- breakfast - Explore the Nubian city of Aswan with a guided walk of the local market and souq. Stunningly situated right on the Nile, a walk along the river corniche to view the many boats is a real treat, as is Aswan bazaar. Free afternoon. Overnight Aswan.

Day 5 –
Aswan- breakfast. Free morning or optional for the morning excursion to Abu Simbel. The remainder of the afternoon at leisure to relax by the pool or explore Aswan your way. Overnight - Aswan.  

Day 6 –
Aswan- Luxor - breakfast. Undertake a felucca cruise around some of the islands located on the Nile, stopping at Sahal Island where you will visit a local village and school (if open); sometimes there is even a local football game in action. Lunch will be served in the home of an Egyptian family followed by the train north to Luxor, one of the world’s greatest open-air museums. The 4000 year old site of ancient Thebes, known today as Luxor, is our base for the next three days. Lunch and overnight - Luxor.

Day 7 –
Luxor - breakfast. Early this morning as the sun rises, you have the option to go hot air ballooning. Floating above, you look down upon temples, monuments and village life. Later you tour Karnak Temple. More than a temple, Karnak is a spectacular complex of sanctuaries, pylons, statuettes and obelisks. This evening, you travel in horse-drawn carriages to the illuminated Temple of Luxor where you will enjoy a tour in the cool evening air. Overnight - Luxor.  

Day 8 –
Luxor - Cairo - breakfast. Enjoy visiting Luxor’s legendary West Bank - home to the famous Valleys of the Kings and Queens, the temple of Queen Hatshepust and the gigantic Colossi of Memnon. See how the ancient Egyptians confounded tomb robbers with the construction of elaborate catacombs, once filled with treasures and highly decorated to allow the pharaoh passage to the afterlife. Return back to Cairo by sleeper train. Dinner and overnight - sleeper train.  

Day 9 –
Cairo - breakfast. A free day to enjoy Cairo your way. Overnight - Cairo.

Day 10 –
Tour ends after breakfast and included onward transfer to airport.
