Golden Spoon Opens First San Jose Area Store

Aug. 7, 2009 - PRLog -- San Jose, CA – Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt is coming to the Silicon Valley with its first location opening August 8 and 9 in West San Jose. The company is celebrating both days by offering everyone a chance to try a refreshing frozen yogurt for free.

Known as the “Ice Cream Lover’s Frozen Yogurt,” Golden Spoon has perfected a proprietary non-fat, low-calorie premium soft-serve frozen yogurt that maintains a healthy and nutritious profile (high in calcium and protein, and contains live active cultures). Golden Spoon creates and develops its own frozen yogurt and offers more than 50 unique and exotic flavors that have yielded a highly loyal, long-term customer following throughout the southwestern United States. Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt is the region’s largest frozen yogurt chain by sales volume with more than 100 total stores throughout the Western United States and Japan.

The Golden Spoon stores in the San Francisco Bay area are owned and operated by Pacific Yogurt Partners LLC which plans 30 stores in Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, and San Mateo counties. The stores are a homecoming of sorts for Pacific Yogurt’s president, David Vered, who was born in Walnut Creek and lived in each of the four counties while growing up. He graduated from UC Berkeley, received his professional start working for Safeway and went on to spend many years in senior operational roles with the gourmet grocery chain Bristol Farms.

“I have long been searching for a business opportunity that would bring me home again,” Vered said. “With the health-conscious market in the greater Bay area, Golden Spoon provided a great fit. Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt is located in the Stevens Creek Shopping Center at 5126 Stevens Creek Blvd., San Jose. Management and staff will be serving a free regular frozen yogurt to everyone who comes in during the Grand Opening from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. August 8 and 9.
