Barloworld Opens ‘used Truck’ Showrooms Nationwide

Aug. 5, 2009 - PRLog -- Barloworld Handling has announced the opening of 8 regional showrooms across the UK displaying a wide range of unbeatable value, ‘Approved Used’ forklift trucks.

“During the current downturn, businesses are looking to reduce costs and get the very best value from their investments.  So it’s no surprise to see many of them opting for approved used forklifts rather than new.” explains Neil Edwards, Equipment Remarketing Manager at Barloworld Handling. The idea behind Barloworld’s regional showrooms is to provide a good range of quality prepared machines in each region of the UK for companies to view and purchase.

Being the sole distributor of Hyster equipment in the UK, Barloworld has a wide range of used equipment for sale or lease covering all applications from a simple pallet truck through to huge container handling trucks.  All forklifts are ex-rental Hyster trucks having been maintained by Barloworld from new and therefore represent great value. At the end of a long term contract each unit is returned to Barloworld’s National Used Equipment Centre in Warrington for a thorough evaluation, service and repair to bring it up to Barloworld’s ‘Approved Used’ quality standard.

“Customers have the peace of mind that all our ‘Approved used’ trucks have passed a stringent quality check before being awarded ‘Approved Used’ status for re-sale” explains Neil.  Under the ‘Approved Used’ programme, Barloworld provides three levels of truck finishing, Merit, Quality and Quality+, so that customers can choose a truck matched to their application and budget. Quality+ standard trucks receive an additional level of preparation which includes a full body repaint, brand new tyres, forks, seat and lift chains and, in the case of electric trucks, a new battery.

“All of our used trucks provide excellent ongoing value and come with an up to date thorough examination certificate, however we do advise customers to make use of our ‘Truckserve’ maintenance programme to ensure that they remain at their very best”.  
Barloworld’s new showrooms are now open at their regional facilities in Cumbernauld, Warrington, West Bromwich, Doncaster, Leeds, Gateshead, Maidenhead and Thurrock. Visitors can inspect the equipment, see the service history and even have a test drive. Approved Used forklifts are ready for immediate delivery with only the selection of fork length, fitting of a rating plate and certification the final remaining processes to be completed prior to delivery.

Finally, if customers can’t find a specification ready prepared to meet their application needs locally, Barloworld will select one from their extensive national stocks and put an appropriate unit through the ‘Approved Used’ refurbishment process at an agreed fixed price.
