Senior Helpers National In Home Care Wants to Promote Senior Home Care on the Oprah Show!

From Sept 23-27 Senior Helpers owners from all over the nation (and Canada) will be flocking to Chicago for our Annual Conference.

While planning how we will spend our free time there, my co-worker shouts out, “We should go watch a taping of Oprah!” Well, from there the idea just snowballed and we ended up deciding that we should try to get Oprah’s attention to feature Senior Helpers on her show that Thursday, Sept. 24th.

Our reasons for wanting to do this are many, however, besides a phenomenal advertising opportunity we know that discussing an issue as pertinent as senior care would be a perfect topic for an Oprah Show. With the number of baby boomers steadily increasing and the 65+ population larger than any generation ever, the topic is seemingly unavoidable and definitely warrants the spotlight.

Fortunately despite the down turn in the economy the Home Care industry is booming, but we fear some still don’t realize what a viable alternative home care is to nursing homes and assisted livings; talking about it on the Oprah show will spread the word about the importance of quality home care and the desire seniors have to remain independent in their own homes.

Now the tough part…getting Oprah’s attention. We will be ‘tweeting’ Oprah at @oprah every couple of hours. We will also be reaching out to others in the entertainment industry who may have “Oprah connections”. Additionally we have created a Facebook group called, “Put Senior Helpers on the Oprah Show on Sept. 24th!!“

How can you help? Tweet @Oprah, join the Facebook Group, write letters to Oprah, make a YouTube video, etc….
