Lamps For Organs, Pianos, And Music Stands

July 28, 2009 - PRLog -- Cleveland manufacturer Wolcraft today revealed its new line of Ektralamp lights for musicians. The unique LED (light emitting diode) lamps provide concentrated lighting for illuminating music scores for organs, grand pianos, and music stands.
Ektralamp lights use low profile light tubes with arrays of recessed LEDs to throw a sheet of even light just where it is needed without spillage or glare. With no light spillage it is often difficult to know that the light is on when not looking at the music. The cool-operating LEDs require little power and do not burn out. The lamps are available in several finishes including polished solid brass, brushed aluminum, and black. Other finishes are available on demand.
The lights are all hand made in the United States and built to order.
The stylish Ectralamp music stand lamps and grand piano lamps clamp to the music rack. At 20 inches wide, the lamps illuminate the entire width of most music stands. These lamps are powered by four AA alkaline batteries and optionally by transformers that can be plugged into standard wall outlets. Due to the low power requirements of LEDs, the lamps can operate for up to 100 hours before batteries need to be replaced. The light tubes can be swiveled to assure that the music is evenly illuminated.

Organ lamps typically are 30 inches wide to completely illuminate the entire width of most music racks. These lamps are made to order to conform to the specific needs of each organ console. Modularity of construction allows the lamps to be built as narrow as ten inches or as wide as sixty inches.

According to company president, Will Limkemann, Ektralamps grew out of the frustrations musicians had expressed in not being able to see their music in many environments, and the need for better lighting.
