Follow on Google News | Asian Wedding Stage Factory To Create Six JobsThe only North East Asian wedding specialist Shaadi Wedding Services is opening a factory in Newcastle upon Tyne to build wedding stages and furniture for the events. The opening will created six new jobs.
By: paul easton associates The nearest comparable manufacturing facility for Asian weddings, known as Shaadis’, is currently located in the Midlands. Until now, Asian families in the north east have been forced to pay a tariff to transport the stages north. Shaban Suleman says: “We may be in tough economic times but the Asian community continues to push the boat out for a family wedding. We have a wedding booked in early August for a local property dealer where we will be catering for over fifteen hundred people in three sittings with celebrations scheduled over three days”. “Shaadi wedding stages are traditional and certainly make a splash with silk draped stages, thrones for bride and groom and fantastic table decorations. In the past, our creative directors and technicians had to travel to Birmingham or further south to supervise the building of their creations. Then the stages had to be brought up the motorway. This added to the cost and was far from an ideal situation, so I have taken the decision to keep the work here in the North East. The region has a thriving Asian community and now we will have a full Shaadi service to meet their needs”. In addition to Shaadi stages and furniture, Shaadi wedding Services build stages and furniture for the traditional pre-wedding celebrations known as Mehendis’. The company also specialises in wedding flowers, cakes, balloons, car hire, a beautician service and as part of the Solomons restaurant group, offers full wedding and event catering. The UK Asian wedding market is estimated to be worth over £300 million per year and is expanding at a rate of ten percent per year as against only four point three percent per year for the Western wedding market. The average cost of an Asian wedding in the UK is about £50,000 and rising, against between £5,000 and £15,000 spent by non Asians. End
