First 2.5" HDD with 1Tb capacity

July 28, 2009 - PRLog -- With two new HDD models from Western Digital you are now able to have more storage capacity in your mobile computer than ever before. WD has launched two new models, where the 1Tb model reaches it's record capacity thanks to new 333 Gb 2.5" platters. The new models are:

   * WD Scorpio Blue 1Tb (WD10TEVT)
   * WD Scorpio Blue 750 Gb (WD7500KEVT)

Both drives are 5200 rpm HDDs with 8Mb cache and connect throug a SATA 3 Gb/s interface.

The WD Scorpio drives use Western Digital's WhisperDrive(TM) technology, which are seek algorithms designed to lower power consumption and noise through more effective data seeking. The drives also have have WD's ShockGuard(TM) and SecurePark(TM) features for improved longevity.

The high capacity WD Scorpio drives are ideal for mobile computers that need large storage capacity for multimedia data such as high definition movies and graphics. The WD Scorpio Blue 1Tb can hold up to 380 hours of DVD quality video or 120 hours of HD video.
