July 21, 2009 - PRLog -- Microsofts new search engine Bing.com that was launched last month continues to take market share from its main competitors.

This month Bing took a small share of the market from both Yahoo and Google according to sources speaking to Rosemont Associates.

Most of the gain was taken from Yahoo and analysts at Rosemont Associates believe it is a matter of time until they overtake Yahoo to become the 2nd largest search engine behind Google. Google still has more that 65 percent of all searches in the Internet. Insiders at Microsoft told Rosemont Associates that they expect Bing to take small slices from Google month on month.

With the announcement this week of Microsoft announcing that they will offer lite version of their office suite online for free, they should see that month on month improvement.

Rosemont Associates analysts expect an interesting battle between the two giants, months ago Microsoft tried to buy Yahoo, this may still happen as Yahoo may feel it is losing the battle. Yahoo has technology that would help Microsoft match Goggles services, which could still be attractive to Microsoft.

Microsoft and Google are both in a battle to take market share of each other’s main dominant products. Microsoft’s Bing.com is looking to take share from Google search; Google is launching an operating system to challenge Microsoft’s Windows.
