Retail Stores in London save money and increase sales!

How retail stores are using new lighting technology to minimise energy costs and boost sales.

July 20, 2009 - PRLog -- We had a look today to see what type of businesses were our top 30 clients by spend were involved in and were surprised to find that more than half of them were retail shops and stores.
They ranged in size from a small 2 floor shop in Carnaby Street to a larger store in the King's Road to a multi outlet Bathroom store throughout London.
In most cases the owners or managers were carrying out the installation of new lighting to recently acquired premises but there have been replacements and additions as well. We found that they all knew just how important lighting is in retail sales but wanted easy to understand advice and help to decide which was the best for them.
We would normally recommend Metal Halide lighting which you will find in many High Street retail stores, particularly clothing stores, and wherever it's vital to accentuate colour and detail. Metal Halide is just a technology and refers to some of the gases used inside the actual bulb (or lamp as it's called in the trade!).
It's particular advantages are that the actual light output is generally described as being 4 times the amount of light you would expect to get from (normally 35, 70 and 150 watt lamps) so it saves considerable amounts of energy. The other thing is the quality of the light produced which is perfect for retail purposes.
About 24% of the energy used by metal halide lamps produces light, making them generally more efficient than fluorescent lamps, and substantially more efficient than incandescent bulbs.
However, it does tend to be more expensive initially so sometimes we recommend other strategies to satisfy the cost/quality ratio.
For instance we have the http://www.toplightco.com/acatalog/Euro_Spot_E27.html Euro Spot E27 (£41.92 + VAT) available which accepts Compact Fluorescent lamps rated up to 24 watts (equivalent in light output to about 120 watts conventional incandescent) or possibly more according to physical size. This fits our versatile and inexpensive 3 Circuit HV Track Lighting system and once installed means that you can add to, remove from and move light fittings according to your wishes long after installation.
The installation of new energy efficient lighting will bring permanent benefits both in terms of money saved on electricity costs and probably too in increased sales, so call the friendly team now at Toplightco Ltd or visit http://www.toplightco.com for more information
