July 18, 2009 - PRLog -- HOUSTON, TEXAS The Hilton Post Oak in Houston played host to the national search for MISS TEEN UNITED STATES-WORLD 2009, 39 contestants from all over the United States vied for the opportunity to be
MISS TEEN UNITED STATES-WORLD 2009!

Ladies from all over the United States competed on Wednesday July 8, 2009 at the Hilton Post Oak Grand Ballroom for the preliminary round of competition in swimsuit and evening gown. The nights winners were Cassie Sumimoto Miss Teen Hawaii-World winning the preliminary swimsuit award and Michelle Leonardo Miss Teen New Jersey-World winning the preliminary evening gown award.

On Friday July 10, 2009 the Miss Teen United States-World pageant held the final show at the Stafford Performing Arts Center the top 15 semi-finlaist were announced and they were Teen Indiana Kimberly Bogle, Teen Idaho Kaitlin Charles, Teen Ohio Ala Eley Teen Hawaii Cassie Sumimoto, Teen Oklahoma Alexis Banks, Teen Illinois Victoria Taraszewski, Teen Texas Jenna Wade, Teen California Jillian Engelhardt, Teen Georgia McKenzie Beach, Teen Alabama Elizabeth Beasley, Teen Minnesota Lindsay Becker, Teen Arkansas Sierra Swanda, Teen District of Columbia Kaytlynne West, Teen North Carolina Courtney Hardin, and Teen New Jersey Michelle Leonardo. These ladies competed in official swimsuits provided by Crown Couture.

After the completion of the swimsuit competition the top 10 finalist was announced who would compete in evening gown they were, Teen Alabama Elizabeth Beasley, Teen Indiana Kimberly Bogle, Teen Idaho Kaitlin Charles, Teen Ohio Ala Eley, Teen Hawaii Cassie Sumimoto, Teen Oklahoma Alexis Banks, Teen New Jersey Michelle Leonardo, Teen Texas Jenna Wade, Teen Minnesota Lindsay Becker, and Teen Illinois Victoria Taraszewski

Upon the completion of evening gown the field was narrowed one more time with the top 5 they were Miss Teen New Jersey-World Michelle Leonardo, Miss Teen Alabama-World Elizabeth Anne Beasley, Miss Teen Hawaii-World Cassie Sumimoto, Miss Teen Oklahoma-World Alexis Banks and Miss Teen Minnesota-World Lindsay Becker rounded out the top 5. Next was the final question.



After the last round of competition the special awards were announced.
The Carolee Munger community service award went to Miss Teen Rhode Island-World Amberly Messier and Miss Teen Alaska-World Jillian Zaleski

Then the runner ups 4th runner up was Miss Teen Alabama-World Elizabeth Beasley, 3rd runner up Miss Teen Minnesota-World Lindsay Becker, 2nd runner up was Miss Teen Oklahoma-World Alexis Banks and 1st runner up was Miss Teen Hawaii-World Cassie Sumimoto.

The new Miss Teen United States-World is Miss Teen New Jersey-World Michelle Leonardo 18 years old of Tinton Falls, New Jersey. Michelle is a freshman and Suffolk University in Boston Massachusetts. Michelle is planning on double majoring in communications and theater and hopes to one day become an actress. Michelle will spend her year traveling to various state pageants and special events promoting the Miss Teen United States-World Pageant and their motto “Be Your own Kind of Beautiful”. Michelle will compete with ladies from all over the world for the title of Miss Teen World this August in Houston, Texas. The pageant is scheduled for August 24-29, 2009 at the Hilton Westchase Hotel. For more information visit www.MissTeenWorld.us. The reigning Miss Teen World is Amy Jackson from Liverpool, England. Amy just finished filming her movie in Bollywood, India titled “Madharasapattinam”.
