A Better Day Learning Center Receives Grant from City of Doral - Florida

A Better Day Learning Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated enhancing the lives of families and children affected with developmental disabilities by providing evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis services at an affordable cost to those in need.  With this project it is our goal to reach out to the residents of Doral and its surrounding municipalities in an effort to educate on the importance of knowing basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in all types of cardiac and life threatening emergencies.  This includes all families.

Nearly 900 Americans die each day in an emergency room or before arriving at the hospital ranking cardiovascular disease one of the top 5 causes of death in the United States.  Statistics have shown a person will, more than likely, perform CPR to a family member.  By providing the community the opportunity to learn how to perform good CPR until advance life support arrives will increase the chance of survival for anyone in cardiac arrest and give peace of mind to the family.

The schedule for the first three weeks of classes will be published by Tuesday, July 21, 2009. A maximum of 10 people per class twice a week will be scheduled for CPR, in Spanish and English as the need arises.  We would also like to include two classes a month of basic First Aid for Children again in Spanish and English.
