July 15, 2009 - PRLog -- Tampa, FL -- Bridget Cline, CEO of Industrial Strength Inc. & Pilot House Audio Visual is one of the finalists for the 2009 Tampa Bay Business Journal BusinessWoman of the Year awards. As the owner of a full-service audio, video, lighting, production and staging source that boasts one of the largest inventories on Florida’s west coast, Cline is a tough contender for the technology category. Winners will be named at an event on Friday, August 21, 2009 at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina.

The BusinessWoman of the Year awards honor influential and accomplished women in the Tampa Bay area who work hard to achieve their status in the business community; For Cline, becoming CEO of a company in an industry that consists of almost all men didn’t come without hard work or adversity. While working on site for clients, she often found herself the only woman in a crew of 50 or 60 men, and when she tried to find other women in the industry with whom she could share thoughts and experiences, she simply could not.

“After getting past these little challenges and having been accepted into the fold as a more than competent provider, I see it as my mission to breakdown any remaining barriers for women who are following behind me,” said Cline. “I’m proud to be a finalist for the 2009 BusinessWoman of the Year awards because the honor is a reminder that women can do this work and be great at it!”

Cline’s impact is easily seen through every aspect of her professional and personal life. Since acquiring her company, she has grown her business at an exponential rate, achieving an increase in sales that has nearly doubled each year since assuming control of the company. She continues to receive local and national attention for her commitment to giving back as well. Her company performs pro-bono events for scores of local schools, non-profits, churches and synagogues.

Cline’s latest non-profit endeavor is the creation of F.A.V.E. (Female Audio Visual Executives), an international, non-profit trade association designed to mentor and encourage young women to join the ever-expanding AV field while providing support, scholarships and networking opportunities.
