Ohio Pet Rescue Group Helps Owners in Crisis

COLUMBUS, Ohio , July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Ohio Pro Life Animal Rescue, Inc., provides short- or long-term shelter to dogs and cats whose owners are experiencing a crisis, especially foreclosure on their homes.

July 13, 2009 - PRLog -- "I was motivated to found the organization after Hurricane Katrina," said Ann Barnes, Executive Director, "when they wouldn't let that little boy's dog on the bus with him I almost cried."

The non-profit organization does not support the euthanasia of displaced animals and all pets are welcome to stay as long as needed. Their goal is to reunite the pet with its owner once the owner is out of crisis.

"If the pet is permanently abandoned, we place the pet up for adoption," said Barnes.

Services include boarding, free veterinary care and spay/neuter. Although the shelter is located in theColumbus, Ohio area, dogs and cats are helped nationwide.

"We need donations," Barnes said, "this is an all-volunteer operation."

The group does offer boarding and day boarding to the general public to help support their operations.
