Follow on Google News | Irish Cosmetic Surgeon To Attend FuneralAn Irish cosmetic surgeon has made plans to travel to America to attend Michael Jackson's funeral. Dr Patrick Treacy from the Ailesbury Clinic said that he first met the singer when he travelled to Ireland and treated him as a close friend.
By: Ailesbury Media "I was planning on going to the funeral, but the plans have changed," he said. "Now he can't be buried in Neverland. So I'm just going to go over and see what the situation is." The founder of the clinic said, while nobody suspected that Michael was ill, the pop star had obviously been under stress. Dr Treacy, who is pictured with Bono, Eddie Jordan and Michael Douglas on his clinic's website, had been working with Jackson with a view to raising aid for African orphans at a concert in Rwanda. But, of late, the plastic surgeon said that he had lost touch with the singer. "His close family and friends will go to the private funeral. I'm a bit out of contact with them at the moment," he said. "The woman I used to deal with left about two months ago. I think she was concerned about his wellbeing and was asked to leave." The doctor, who used to live in Santa Barbara, said that everything has happened so fast within the media glare and there was some misunderstanding about what would happen. "We are all a bit confused with the news at the moment. "Obviously his family will want him to go back to Indiana, but he will probably end up being buried in California," "There was some talk that he had converted to the Islamic faith, but his mother is a Jehovah's Witness. "Their religion means that Michael should be buried immediately but now with the Coroner's case, I don't think that can happen. "The news is changing on an hourly basis, so nobody knows at this stage. "But I've made arrangements to go over to California anyway," he added. Mr Treacy said that he got to know the pop star while he stayed in Ireland for three to four months and said that he was a wonderfully honest person and that he was "very genuine". "He was a loving person that the world didn't get to know well enough during his short life," he added. clairemurphy@ # # # Ailesbury Clinics Ltd is the leading provider of advanced medical aesthetic skin care in Ireland.
