July 9, 2009 - PRLog -- Gray’s Auctioneers is holding its 22nd auction on Saturday, July 25th at 1 pm. Located at 10717 Detroit Avenue in Cleveland, our auction will be open to the general public with absolutely no charge to register and bid. A wide array of remarkable lots will be featured including fine arts, furniture, decorations, antiques, jewelry and more. Please visit our website for detailed lot information. There are no qualifications to participate in the auction. We strongly encourage anyone to come to our facilities and join in the fun. There is a spacious parking lot with free parking. Free wine and cheese is also provided. In addition to bidding in person, you are able to bid online through our website or ArtFact’s website. The live auction is broadcast through an internet simulcast in real time. It’s the perfect event if you’re interested in adding to your fine arts collection, decorating your home or furnishing a room.
Among the hundreds of lots is a breathtaking Japanese scene attributed to John La Farge (American, 1835-1910). We believe this watercolor is dedicated to his valet, Awoki, who travelled with La Farge extensively until the time of his death. Another outstanding piece is a lithograph on Auvergne handmade paper by Jean Dubuffet (French, 1901-1985). Possibly an artist's proof, the piece is unsigned and unnumbered except for the number 34 in pencil, lower right margin. From Matiere et Mémoire, the lithograph is an astonishing impression of this rare early print. In a recent Sotheby’s auction, a Dubuffet gouache “Paris Plaisir III” overshot its estimate and sold for a hammer price of $445,000. In addition to these fabulous pieces is a large assortment of paintings, prints, antiques, collectibles, desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, mirrors, vanities, books, rugs, jewelry and more. No matter what you might want, there is something for everybody.

Please save the date! July 25th 2009 is slated to be another successful auction that we’d like you to be a part of. We are northeast Ohio’s finest auction house due to our extensive experience, impeccable staff and unparalleled services. We kindly offer free fair market value appraisals and pick up service for potential consigners. Stop in for an exhibition preview during posted times. When it comes to our auctions, there is no black or white, only shades of Gray.

Gray’s Auctioneers team of specialists offer full auction and appraisal services, aiming to make your auction experience as enjoyable as possible. What makes Gray’s Auctioneers unique is that we can do what our competitors cannot. When it comes to handling estates, Gray’s can auction high end merchandise as well as the low end merchandise. We can afford to sell items valued as low as $50 because the cost of doing business in Cleveland is a fraction of what it costs in most other metropolitan areas. Many of our competitors have higher minimums that do not benefit estates. When the most important thing in handling an estate is a total clean out, many auction houses cherry pick the most valuable pieces, which is usually only 5% of the estate, leaving the trustees to deal with the remaining 95%.

Thanks to the Internet we are able to maintain an even playing field with our competitors, meaning we get the same global foot traffic as other auction houses.
