U.N. Treaties Threaten U.S. Law and Sovereignty, Experts Warn on July 12 Coral Ridge Hour



Fort Lauderdale, FL (July 9, 2009) –International treaties pushed by the United Nations threaten to trump American law and impose a far-reaching secular agenda on America, experts warn on the July 12 Coral Ridge Hour broadcast.

The nationally televised program takes a revealing look at globalism, including how U.N. treaties could be used to encroach on American sovereignty and subordinate U.S. law to the organization’s radical objectives.  



“Various U.N. agencies like the United Nations Population Fund or UNICEF have a very radical agenda that seeks to impose, oftentimes, a pro-abortion policy on sovereign nations,” Piero Tozzi, executive vice-president of the Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute, explains on the program.



The U.N. has charged Nicaragua with violating four U.N. treaties in an attempt to pressure that nation to abandon its pro-life laws. Since treaties are supreme law under the U.S. Constitution, America could face the same kind of international pressure and be forced to yield to U.N. demands under any treaties ratified by the U.S.



“To think that the supreme law of our land would no longer be our Constitution, but rather the dictates of foreign powers is bone-chilling,” says Coral Ridge Hour host Dr. Jerry Newcombe. “President George Washington himself warned of the dangers of giving up our sovereignty, calling foreign influence ‘one of the most baneful foes of republican government.’ Yet some of our leaders want us to serve up our self-rule on a platter to the United Nations.”



That would open the door to international agreements that squash the rights of American parents to home school their children and promote homosexuality, radical views on human sexuality, a right to abortion, and much more.



“I do worry, as many do, that our president may be willing to cede some of our rights and our authority in order to further promote globalization and internationalization of law,” says Dr. Joseph Mauceri, a former bio-ethics advisor for the Roman Catholic Church’s U.N. mission. “If sovereignty is to be defended and something to be valued, then we, the American people, have to stand up and claim our rights.”
