New partnership between Fibre Technologies and Avocent unchains businesses from their data centres

Businesses working with network systems integrator Fibre Technologies to connect up their data centres no longer need to be constrained by physical location when siting new facilities.

July 8, 2009 - PRLog -- The new partnership with infrastructure management solutions provider Avocent means that in addition to creating the network to support the data centre, Fibre Technologies can also provide a complete desktop-to-data centre solution to remotely manage the hardware within it.

Avocent’s hardware can monitor a wide range of criteria, from power consumption to server temperature, and works in conjunction with its KVM software, meaning that these attributes can be remotely monitored and controlled.  All of Avocent’s technology has been security certified, meaning it can be used by a wide range of Fibre Technologies’ customers, including those in financial industries and the public sector.

“All our channel partners are required to undergo a certification process to ensure they thoroughly understand our products,” explains Ian Paul, channel manager, Avocent.  “When Fibre Technologies approached us, we were impressed with the team’s industry knowledge and the range of customers it has worked with, which helped them to complete the certification process at a faster rate.”

“Our partnership with Avocent is a logical evolution of the services we provide to customers building new data centres.  As well as providing our customers maximum connectivity to their data centres, we can now let them have full visibility and control within the data centre itself,” says Ian Hunt, managing director, Fibre Technologies.  “Avocent is a globally recognised provider of remote IT infrastructure management products, and the partnership will ensure we continue to offer the highest quality technology to our customers.”
