July 8, 2009 - PRLog -- Australian tour company, Elia Tours, is offering a unique way to explore Australia – by horseback.

Riding across trails in the beautiful Sunshine Coast countryside, riders can expect to travel over mountains, through forests and across creeks and streams. It’s not unusual to see herds of cattle wandering along the tracks or to spot kangaroos bouncing along the mountain paths and amongst the eucalyptus trees that make the Australian landscape so famous.

This is the ‘real’ Australia – whilst riding on the tour it is unlikely that riders will see another person for the whole day – except perhaps the occasional farmer or forest ranger.  Specialising in small tours, Elia Tours never takes more than 12 riders on any one tour adding to the serenity of the experience.

The horses used for the tours are all Arabian-bred and are used for endurance racing when they are not out on tours – many of them winning or getting places in some of the biggest rides in Australia. They are beautifully trained by the on-site team and all of the horses will stop and go with little effort required by the rider.

Departing from Brisbane, riders can choose from a 2, 5 or 10 day tour – the 10 day tour also includes some non-riding days including a trip to the Gold Coast and feeding wild dolphins on a tropical island. Custom tours can also be designed on request.

Elia Tours offer an interesting twist to all of their tours. For an additional fee, it is possible to add English lessons into the tour schedule. Using fully qualified English teachers, the mobile classroom follows you on tour and for 2 hours or more a day you will receive English lessons designed specifically to meet your ability and requirements.

It truly is a unique way to experience parts of Australia that are inaccessible to most tourists.
