Career Day and Open House
Albuquerque Sunport – July 12, 2009

Del Sol Aviation, Cutter Aviation Charter Services, Enchantment Helicopters, UNM Lifeguard, Seven Bar Flying Service, Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) Aviation Department, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, NM Army and Air National Guard, Santa Fe Top Gun Adventures and New Mexico Department of Transportation Aviation Division are co-hosting the “Your Place in Aviation” Career Day and Open House.
This event will be held on July 12, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and is open to the public.  Del Sol Aviation will provide grilled hot dogs, chips and drinks from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.  The activities will be conducted at the Cutter Aviation Terminal on the general aviation side of Albuquerque Sunport.  Representatives of participating organizations will be available and eager to discuss career path opportunities, provide table top literature and offer static display aircraft tours.  Discovery rides will be offered by Del Sol Aviation, Enchantment Helicopters, and Santa Fe Top Gun Adventures at special rates.
The interest in aviation related careers is expected to receive a boost from projects like Spaceport America combined with nationwide projections for an evolving need to train the next generation of aviation professionals.  "One of the key components to the Governor's economic initiatives is the development of the aviation industry.  We are so fortunate to have events such as this to help encourage the younger generations to learn and take an interest in aviation" stated Fred Mondragon, Cabinet Secretary for New Mexico Economic Development.
