Follow on Google News | Local Marine Needs Help Saving Her Beloved PuggleStephanie Nichols has seen the brutality of war and the misery of death. But she is currently facing her largest personal struggle--seeing her small dog suffer and not being able to help her.
By: The FACE Foundation Penny has been a part of Stephanie's life since she was 19-years-old. For Stephanie it was love at first sight when she first saw the tiny pup. Two years later and with her husband now living in the Bay Area, she readily talks about how Penny is everything that she has. “I would do anything for Penny. She is my support system. I don’t have any children, so Penny is like my child. I can’t imagine life without her,” sobbed Stephanie. While Stephanie firmly states that she will do anything within her power for Penny, she is devastated by her current situation. Having swallowed a rib bone a few nights ago, Penny is under observation at a local hospital. Unable to cover Penny’s veterinary expenses and potential surgery, Stephanie felt a huge relief when Dr. Palozzi from California Veterinary Specialists told her not to worry, there were options. Those options are the FACE Foundation. Even though FACE has run out of money to take on more cases for the month of June, they’ve agreed to help. Moved by Stephanie and Penny’s plight, the Foundation is asking animal lovers in the community to make a donation on behalf of “Penny the Puggle”. These donations will go to help Penny or other beloved pets like her that need assistance to survive. FACE is as an independent Not-for-Profit 501 (c) 3 public Charitable Foundation. It was created to provide assistance in the form of grants to animal owners who cannot afford to cover all or part of treatments needed to save their pets’ lives. "The mission of FACE is to enhance and preserve the quality of life of animals by providing access to necessary medical care and education."
