June 22, 2009 - PRLog -- For the past decade, Dick and Barbara Peterson have personally funded a spectacular community event dubbed "Rumble in the Basin" to entertain the town of Worland, Wyoming and honor the armed service members of the United States.

Launched from their rural backyard is one of the largest fireworks displays in the Northwestern United States, where the town gathers and spectates.  Last year, thousands turned up for the massive display over a two mile radius.

Rumble in the Basin is a special honorary event for the area's veterans.  Following an hour-long program of song singing and entertainment, a public recognition ceremony will take place on stage for all present active duty military members.  It is these members of the armed forces that inspired the event's foundation, and the annual gathering makes a point to not only entertain the local town, but serve as a tribute to those who have dedicated themselves to service througout the years.

This year, the fireworks display will be coupled with a unique patriotic laser light show by Lightwave International - something the Petersons feel will add a special touch to the program.  Lightwave has a long list of impressive clients including Madonna and Roger Waters, has done city-scale spectaculars in Boston and Pittsburgh, and has performed all sizes of laser shows for various purposes across the globe.  They will be bringing some of the most powerful, brilliant lasers in the world to Worland for the event, which will be their first performance in the state of Wyoming.  Lightwave is honored to be a part such a symbolic celebration.

The addition of laser entertainment is symbolic of Dick and Barbara's huge vision for this year's 10th anniversary festivities.  Recently, Wyoming's National Guard was deployed, marking the largest deployment of the state's guard since the Korean War.  That being true, Peterson finds this year's gathering to be doubly significant, and expects a very memorable and exciting holiday.

The event is free and will open to the public at 6:30PM on July 4th.
