Handsome Face Stops Traffic

When your face is used to stop traffic what kind of payment would you expect? Brad Pitts face wouldn’t be for free.

June 19, 2009 - PRLog -- How much will the hard working, handsome hulk Brad Pitt, be paid to take up a new role in life? Russian officials erect life size cutouts of the film-star, dressed as a traffic cop, near the most accident prone intersections in the city of Omsk.

The authorities firmly believed that the iconic star, Brad Pitt, who is able to stop traffic in America, could create the same situation in Russia. The authorities hoped the cardboard cut outs of the Hollywood heartthrob, would slow down traffic and assist in lowering the high volume of speeding accidents. Listed among the highest traffic accident areas in Europe, the southwest Siberian city of Omsk, is the second largest city in Russia, beyond the Urals.

“Accidents have fallen,” the city officials report from Omsk, “As star-struck drivers ease off the gas to gaze at the unusual image.” According to them, the traffic has definitely slowed down, as drivers strain to catch sight of the famous hunk.

Pitt has been quoted as being the man most other men want to look like. Surveying 20,000 plastic surgeons across the world, a recent survey found that men request the 44 year old actor’s nose, lips, chin and backside, over any other star. Brad is claimed to be one of the world’s most attractive men – a 21st century Clarke Gable.

Pitt, however did not achieve his fame on his looks alone. He is a hard working actor. He earned himself Oscar Awards for his performances in Troy, (2004) and Mr & Mrs Smith (2005), as well as having been nominated many other times.  Pitt has acted in a total of 52 movies since 1987 – or 2 ½ movies per year for the past 22 years.  Pitt also is the owner of the production company called PlanB Entertainment, which made the Academy Award winning best picture, The Departed in 2007. (Pitt personally produced the film.) PlanB Entertainment has produced 8 movies since 2004.

One day you may find a full size cardboard cutout of Brad, at a traffic trouble spot near you.

Or maybe the authorities might decide to try cardboard cutouts of Marilyn Monroe and her high flying hemline, Bridget Bardot’s curves, or should that be underdressed Cher, as the majority of drivers are male? The problem would then no longer be speed, but traffic snarl-ups, as vehicles slow down to make the most of the free showtime. We know! You should try driving past the football grounds when a game is being played on the tropical island of Vanuatu!
