Florida Filmmaker Wins Unprecedented Two Awards at the 15th annual Twin Rivers Media Festival in Asheville NC.
Freelance Filmmaker and Producer Giuli Schacht of New Smyrna Beach, Fl has become the first filmmaker to take 1st place in two different categories in the 15 year history of the Twin Rivers Media Festival in Asheville, NC.  “We received more than 500 films this year from throughout the world including 89 World Premiers and 10 US premiers, “ explained Jarrett Leone, festival host, “so I was shocked to see a producer win more than one category.”
Schacht pulled off the wins in both the Outdoor and Commercial Film Categories. “Aside from the Short Drama Category, these are very competitive divisions to win in the competition,” stated Leone.
In the Outdoor Category, Schacht submitted, The Creative Class,  featuring Richard Florida in England, Germany, Canada and US cities, and whose book The Rise of the Creative Class created a sensation in Economic Development Agencies in major cities and countries.  “This film was a labor of love,” explains Schacht, “taking several years of production and tedious post production in the US and 5 other countries.”
Schacht tackled a law firm commercial for her second win.  “Using Matrix like special effects, Giuli Schacht filmed on old man defending himself from a onslaught of jelly beans being projected by a young boy,” said Leone. “She presented a highly creative and effective 30 second TV ad for her client”
The  15th Annual Twin Rivers Media Festival takes place in Asheville on May 29, 30 and 31st at 9 Walnut Street, Downtown Asheville. Short Films, Animation, Documentary, Outdoor, Features, and Commercial winners will be screened during the three day festival.
