Follow on Google News | Us Embassy Officials Visit Quepos, Costa RicaThe highly anticipated Marina Pez Vela in Quepos and Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica is moving right along in the development of the 300+ full service Marina that is expected for completion in 2012. US Embassy officials visit the site to see the progress.
Nearing its Summer debut, Marina Pez Vela is seeing substantial progression being made. Boats in the Quepos port and locals in town are witness to the rapid progression of construction on site. Completion of the utility installation, dock construction and cofferdam breakwater has been achieved and sites of cranes and construction personnel busily working can be seen. “Marina Pez Vela is no longer a dream, but now a reality,” says Harold Lovelady (project founder), as he states that the project is on schedule to complete its first phase this Summer. Phase one includes completion of 100 slips which can accommodate yachts of up to 200 ft. Marina Pez Vela is a unique marina project as it features a one of a kind breakwater, one of the most sophisticated ever used in a recreational marina. This provides a secure and protected harbour. Built by Bellingham Marine, the Marina is utilizing innovative concrete floating docks which will provide passengers and equipment safe loading and secure moorage. A full-service boatyard will also be available and will serve as an operations base for yachts and fisherman along the Central American Pacific Coast. This will provide more fishing possibilities by opening up thousands of miles of the Pacific which were previously impossible to fish. The new 300 boat slip marina is ideally located where fishing and boating activities take place year round with great conditions. The seas experience flat waters day after day and fish are usually just waiting to be caught! The Quepos and Manuel Antonio Costa Rica area boasts unique topography which prevent the ocean to ever reach more than a two foot chop. There are swells, but they are usually spread out causing them to go unnoticed. This provides a great day on the sea year round. Marina Pez Vela is making such great progress partly due to the secure financing that has been acquired from PIMNSA, a real estate development and land management company based in Costa Rica. Offering great value and a secure investment, Marina Pez Vela buyers can rest assured that the project will complete, unlike many real estate projects that have come to a hault due to the economic crisis. Starting at $175,000 are wet slips, and dry slips start at $125,000. When not in use by the owner, these boat slips can be rented out which ensures a great return on investment for buyers.
