Industry Adopts Belzona Solution

June 3, 2009 - PRLog -- Belzona Polymerics Limited, the world leader in the design and manufacture of polymer repair composites and industrial protective coatings, are supplying “flange face forming kits” for the on-site maintenance staff of a number of super majors within the Oil and Gas industry.

These kits consist of a number of different sized formers and a stock of Belzona materials, so that platform maintenance personnel can carry out flange face reforming repairs as part of regular maintenance procedure and not just during shut-down periods.

The Belzona approach uses advanced polymer resin technology to recreate perfectly formed mating flange faces, including where required, a gramophone finish, which can be moulded in at the time of application by the use of a suitable former. This results in long term corrosion protection of the flange which is less susceptible to damage and leakage in the future.

Unlike conventional methods of repair, using a Belzona “flange face forming kit” avoids the need for hot work which in turn, reduces equipment down time. This means that not only does this approach provide environmental benefits but it is also safe in use as well as being highly cost effective.

In addition, Belzona are offering a series of training courses on flange face reforming techniques using Belzona products. These courses are being run by Belzona’s Norwegian Distributor, CAN Technology.

Plant based personnel who have been trained in this application technique can also be validated in the future where required.
