May 29, 2009 - PRLog -- The ride is open to all Rotarians and the hope is that 25 Rotarians take up the challenge, raising funds for a charity of their choice.

As well as raising funds for good causes, the ride is also designed to increase awareness of Rotary throughout the UK; its charitable and community work and its role in assisting development overseas.

Uniquely, there will be no minimum fundraising or sponsorship targets and each Rotarian can choose her his own charity to raise funds for. There is a registration and management fee of £300 to cover insurances, fund roadside support and other delivery costs.

Westminster East and DangerousGround will organise all accommodation, which will be shared, in Youth Hostels or similar. We are also seeking accommodation support from Rotary clubs along our chosen route.

Westminster East and DangerousGround will provide you with all material you need to raise funds and can also supply training guides for those who are new to cycling or those who wish to formally prepare for the ride.

The route has been chosen to take you up the West of England, before crossing over to the East coast of Scotland. The 1000 mile ride has been designed as both challenging and achievable. With an average of 80 miles a day, the 11 day ride will enable you tick off one of the ‘must do’ rides in the UK.

We hope that you will not only enjoy the challenge of this famous ride, but also enjoy the unique hospitability and fellowship of Rotarians from start to finish.

The Rotary club of Westminster East and DangerousGround understand that not everyone can commit to an 11 day cycle ride, so arrangements are being made to enable Rotarians to join the ride on a day-by-day basis. So if 1000 miles is too much to commit to, why not join for the day the ride passes by your club.

The route will be presented in the next few weeks. Please return to this web site or ensure you are kept up-to-date and pre-register by email to  endtoend@dangerousground.co.uk
