May 28, 2009 - PRLog -- ANDOVER, MA - At a recent dinner meeting held at Palmer's Restaurant in Andover, the Merrimack Valley Estate Planning Council (MVEPC) held its election for new executive officers and board members.  The MVEPC, a local chapter of the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils based in Ohio, announced the election results for the new slate of officers and board members for the 2009-2010 term running through next May.

Steve Stanganelli, CRPC®, CFP®, an independent fee-only financial planner, was elected to the position of president for the upcoming year after serving in previous terms as 1st Vice President and 2nd Vice President in charge of organizing speaker programs.

In accepting his new role, Stanganelli announced that his three top areas of focus will be "increasing membership, increasing professional networking opportunities and increasing education programs."

The MVEPC is comprised of professionals from a variety of areas that deal with estate planning issues.  Members include elder law and estate planning attorneys, financial planners, investment advisors, tax advisors, insurance agents, bankers, trust administration officers and elder service advocates.

Stanganelli added that "there is a diversity of professions represented on the board and each of you can offer a practical perspective on things that you see to improve the organization and make it more relevant to practitioners."

Stanganelli went on to say that "while we will continue to offer our educational programs, I also want the board to consider ways to expand the relevance of the MVEPC to the professional practices of its members."  This may include offering continuing education credit programs to professionals, professional networking opportunities with other groups at other locations throughout the Merrimack Valley and making practice management tools available from the NAEPC.

The new board is comprised of the following:
1st VP:  Theresa Soracco, JD, Regional Director of Philanthopy for the ALS Association;
2nd VP: George Bowen,  CFP®, investment advisor representative from Capital Management Partners;
Secretary:  Kelly Quigley, Esq., estate attorney with Devine Millimet Branch;
