Standard fit auto dimming rear view car mirrors have been around for quite a number of years! They tend to be fitted to high specification cars (top end models), or as expensive options normally as part of an equipment pack costing several hundreds pounds extra. They are an excellent safety feature as they adjust the mirror automatically to give you optimum vision in all lighting conditions. They are particularly effective against the ever increasing use of high intensity headlights (HID).

Unfortunately the majority cars do not have this safety feature instead relying on the button at the bottom of the mirror to change the angle of the mirror. While this is effective to a degree it means that the driver has to take his/her hand off the steering wheel and the effect is just a dulling of your vision. In addition quite often it is too late to soften the effect of high intensity lights which have a blinding sensation on your eyes and can make driving at night (or in poor lighting conditions) unbearable.

After market auto dimming mirrors are available however, they are expensive and require an auto electrical engineer to fit them (another expense).

A solution is now available to drivers wishing to upgrade to an auto dimming rear view mirror without the expense. No wiring or tools required and is transferable from car to car. MCL Logic has sourced what it believes to be the first Clip-On Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror to be available in the UK. The mirror offers all the features of a standard fit auto dimming mirror. It reduces headlight glare, blends in to look like a factory fitted mirror, improves your vision in all driving conditions, gives you a wider field of vision, batteries that last for approximately 3 years under normal driving conditions, can be fitted in approximately 30 second and comes with a 12 month warranty.

The mirrors are available from digitalmirrors.co.uk and come in a range of colours. Natural, Blue Fusion, Amber (best protection against HID headlights) and Cherry Red.
