Parents Gotta Eat – Kids Gotta Play

In a safe and stimulating environment, SadieDey’s allows kids to be kids while adults enjoy free wifi, local roasted coffee and tasty food.

Under the direction of owner “Momma Sue” Older, SadieDey’s offers top-of-the-line café amenities. The custom-designed 1000 foot play space includes a dramatic play castle, one-of-a kind train table, jungle gym with slide and a soft pre-crawler area for babies running alongside the café. The unique design  allows parents’ easy check-ins and a safe barrier to  keep the littlest-ones out from under their older siblings.  

SadieDey’s continuous success is due to Momma Sue’s many thoughtful conveniences such as the popular “Mother’s Helper Activity Time” where 5 days a week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., energetic helpers entertain kids with a variety of fun activities while parents enjoy 4 uninterrupted hours of time working on their laptops, reading a book or just enjoying a cup of gourmet coffee.  Their private room is even available to reserve for small groups and meetings.

Momma Sue came up with the idea of her cafe  after witnessing many parents’ unsuccessful multi-tasking efforts. When she shared the idea, it became an instant hit. “It takes a community to build a business,” Older said, which is why some might think their own moms wrote the rules and regulations at SadieDeys.  For one, to keep the children’s admission fee a low $5.95 per visit, SadieDey’s Cafe asks patrons to pick up after their kids, and themselves via somewhat “cheeky” signs such as “Momma Quit!  So please buss your own table!” Older explains, “We are also building a community for SadieDey’s Café. Our customers treat the place like it’s their second home and are protective of us, especially in this economy.”

That said, Older is not afraid to admit, “SadieDey’s Café may not be for everyone. “Our customers like to pitch in and want to be part of the team. Aside from stay at home parents, we have regulars who come in to work on their laptops while their kids play. We work hard to make SadieDey's sensible and in return they respect our system. It’s a win-win arrangement.” Naturally, Older and team are all ears when it comes to improving SadieDey’s.

SadieDey’s Story

SadieDey's Cafe began its life as tumble & tea cafe. Over the years, the cafe evolved to try to keep aligned what clients most desire in a play cafe. This year, Momma Sue became the sole owner of the cafe and reinvented the original concept, adding many new amenities including Mother's Helpers, a new safety gate system, the largest kid's menu anywhere, a new pre-crawler development area and a large array of new classes and special events. It is now aptly named for her 2 inspirations: her daughter, Sadie (age 4) & her son, Dey (age 6).
