Sturgis is about a day ride from Liberty Motorcycle Rental. For those of you that just can't wait for the events to begin, you can hop right on Interstate 35 south to Interstate 90 west and you'll be there in less than 7 hours. For those of you that would like a more scenic route, you can take State Highway 169 down thru southern Minnesotas' River Valley to the German Community of New Ulm. From there, you'll head west across the beautiful lush farm lands on State Highway 14 and into South Dakota at Brookings. From there, experience all that South Dakota has to offer from wide open prairies to Fort Pierce along the Missouri River; One of the Forts that Lewis and Clark used as a staging area for their journeys west. From there you may decide to head south on State Highway 83 and catch the Interstate 90 west for a while. Don't forget to stop at Murdo and visit the Pioneer Auto Show (http://pioneerautoshow.com) and then stop in Wall Drug, South Dakota (http://www.walldrug.com) for a cold sasparilla (root beer). Then off to Sturgis either via the Interstate or gas your bike and head back out into the wild of Badlands National Park or Custer State Park. Have fun....but watch out for the buffalo.
