“At Penn Care, We know you have lots of choices when it comes to buying an ambulance. We invite you to read on and see why we think you should consider purchasing an ambulance from us. We are a dealer for Braun ambulances and our sales philosophy is to help educate you about emergency vehicles. We want you to be well informed and completely comfortable with whatever vehicle you ultimately choose. That's why we'll take as long as you need to explain and demonstrate each feature of an emergency vehicle.” states Shawn Bryant, President Penn Care Inc. Niles, Ohio

The "Rolls Royce" of the ambulance industry, Braun engineering and construction offers the safest and strongest ambulance on the market. A new Braun Ambulance also includes the most standard features in the industry and is "the leader" in innovative ambulance design. Founded in 1972, Braun is the oldest ambulance manufacturer, and has been under the same family ownership since its inception.Braun offers exclusives such as Braun SolidBody(tm) Construction, the EZ Glide(tm) Sliding Door, the MasterTech(tm) III Multiplex Electrical Control System and the VitalMax(tm) Lighting System.

On Oct. 31, 2008, a Braun ambulance owned by the Medical Center EMS in Bowling Green, Ky., was involved in a side-impact collision with the asphalt truck, hitting a traffic light pole head-on while returning to the station at 2:30 a.m.

"An ambulance accident is not a scene we want to have happen, but it is important to examine crash units when possible and to use the event as a learning opportunity to build the safest ambulances for today's rescue crews," said Phil Braun, president and CEO of Braun Industries, Inc.  As standard policy, Braun requests pictures of all company-made vehicles that have been involved in a major accident and, depending on the situation, Braun representatives and local dealers will travel to the customer for in-depth inspections.

The manufacturer worked quickly with their local dealer to deliver a new ambulance to the center on Nov. 3 - just three days after the accident.

"Although a reconstruction team had examined the unit and already determined that about 80,000 lbs. of force was impacted into the Braun ambulance and the Ford chassis crumbled around the passengers as it was designed to do, we felt it was necessary to re-examine the ambulance to learn where we can improve our design," said Scott Braun.  "With so much technology available today, we owe it to our customers to continually innovate design elements and enhance our ambulances."

Braun's well-known SolidBody construction is what adds strength to the unit because there is no separate extruded frame, providing greater patient and attendant safety.  The company's EZ Glide Sliding Door opens against the module, rather than out into traffic, and was still attached to the ambulance after the accident.

"We are very proud of the hard work and dedication of all our employees, who strive each day to make Braun Industries the leader in high-quality ambulances and customer service," said Scott Braun.  "I am pleased at how well this module absorbed the full impact of the accident to disperse the energy, ensuring the integrity and safety of the patient compartment.  Testing and quality inspections can take us only so far, but having been giving a real-world scenario to review accident damage first-hand proves to be an invaluable tool that reinforces our construction efforts.  Everything from the initial module engineering and structural build to the final assembly allowed this unit to perform exactly how it was designed to do."

Braun Industries’ unrivaled dedication to maintaining high quality is what makes it Penncare Inc.’s choice Ambulance.
