Follow on Google News | India 2009 General Election ResultsGeneral election 2009 result has been declared. The UPA comes out as a winner & Manmohan Singh will again hold the office as prime minister. It is one of the biggest win for congress as now it will no longer remain under the pressure of left front.
By: Reena Dhiman After showing a remarkable progress in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan, the UPA, led by the Indian National Congress, are ready to again form the government under the incumbent of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. After Jawaharlal Nehru, he is the first prime minister who has been re-elected after its completion of 5 years of office term. The result not only signifies to defeat of the BJP led National Democratic Alliance but it also points towards one of the worst performances by the Left Front, who was dreaming to create a party of non-congress, non-BJP government with the help of Third Front. Now this idea was put in back sear due to the unexpected losses faced by the AIADMIL in Tamil Nadu, TDP and other allies in Andjra Pradesh. The Congress sweep in Kerala and a huge victory of Congress and its ally Trinamool Congress in West Bengal. Rahul Gandhi wins Amethi Seat and Jayaprada is also emerge dout as winner from its Rampur Seat. After the completion of polling results, now it is clear that the Left Front along with the Third Front did not succeed in emerging out as a vital competitor in this 2009 general election.
