May 6, 2009 - PRLog -- "Moon Beat" the nostalgic 40th anniversary Apollo XI documentary, featuring top news reporters and senior NASA officials has won the 2009 Special Jury Remi Award at the 42nd Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. WorldFest Houston is one of the oldest and largest film & video competitions in the world.

“Congratulations on winning this 2009 Special Jury Remi Award for your documentary film, “Moon Beat,” said J. Hunter Todd, Chairman and WorldFest Founding Director. “It is very difficult to win a Remi in WorldFest, with so many entries, only about 15-20% are good enough to win the Special Jury Award for Creative Excellence.”

“Moon Beat” recalls the 1969 historic flight of Apollo XI on its 40th anniversary, from the perspective of many of the top news reporters who covered and wrote about the U.S. Space program for many years including: John Noble Wilford, New York Times, Al Neuharth, Founder, USA Today and Florida Today, Reg Turnill, BBC Aerospace Correspondent and Joe Morgenstern, Film Critic, The Wall Street Journal and many others. In addition, the documentary film features interviews with senior NASA officials including Jack W. King (Voice of Apollo) who is best remembered for his exhilarating Apollo launch countdowns by millions of Apollo enthusiasts around the world.
