Dr. Richard Robb Selected for Chamber’s Most Prestigious Award

We are delighted to announce that Richard Robb has been named the 2009 Distinguish Service Award Recipient.

Dick Robb is a life-long resident of Ypsilanti.  After serving in the Army and being honorably discharged, Dick graduated from Eastern Michigan University and then the University of Michigan’s School of Dentistry where he earned his DDS.  Upon his graduation, Dick opened a practice of family dentistry in Ypsilanti and spent his entire working life caring for Ypsilanti area patients.

Dick’s vitae illustrates his commitment to the greater Ypsilanti community as he volunteered in many capacities to serve the town in which he lived and worked.  Dick was an effective member of the Ypsilanti City Council, the EMU Board of Regents, Co-chair of the successful millage/bond campaign to build a new Ypsilanti District Library and made many more valuable contributions to both Ypsilanti and Eastern Michigan University. Dick is currently serving as Chair of the Ypsilanti Community Fund.
Dick is married to Barbara Langer Robb, life-long Ypsilanti resident and retired teacher at Milan High School, and has three grown daughters.

Dr. Richard Robb will be recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting & Award Dinner held on Thursday, May 14th, at the Washtenaw Country Club.  Please contact the Ypsilanti Area Chamber of Commerce at 734-482-4920 for additional details or for a photo.
