April 30, 2009 - PRLog -- , Pa  -- WCI Consulting, the corporate training division of Warrior Concepts Int'l, Inc., announced today that its principle consultant, Jeffrey M. Miller, an internationally-recognized leader in the field of self-protection, is presenting a new seminar on the subject of defending against and surviving an actual workplace violence attack.  The seminar titled, "Workplace Violence: When Prevention Is NOT ENOUGH!", is designed specifically for human resources, training, and safety managers, hospital and school administrators, as-well-as business owners. Topics will include: 8 Phases of Effective Self-Defense; the missing element in most workplace violence plans; reasons why most workplace violence plans are flawed from the beginning; and the myths and realities of offering defense and survival training to employees.

Seminars are currently scheduled to be offered throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland/D.C., and New York during the months of May and June of 2009.  Dates and cities for these events can be found at http://www.wcinternational.com/workplace_violence_trainin....  To register for an event, just select the location/date that best fits your schedule.

According to organizations such as PERI (Public Entity Risk Institute), OSHA, and the FBI, workplace violence and violence in schools is at an all-time high.  But, when it comes to handling workplace violence, even with the most recent catastrophic incidents and mass murders, most human resource, training, and safety managers are still relying on passive, preventative policies that will do nothing to stop a determined violent attacker.

"There are more than enough workplace violence consultants out there teaching prevention and policy-building," says Miller, founder and one of the principle partners of WCI Consulting.  "And that's fine," he adds before going on to say that, "but a violent, enraged attacker doesn't care about your "zero-tolerance" statements, whether or not they're allowed to have the weapon they're using, or what you're going to do to him afterwards."

Miller is a former federal police officer, undercover drug and black market suppression agent, private investigator and body guard.  He has been teaching real-world self-defense and survival skills to law enforcement and security professionals, members of the military, private citizens, and others for more than 20 years.  Miller has what most workplace violence consultants do not - and that is real-world experience in dealing with, and defending against, violent attackers.  And, during these critical and timely seminars, he will be sharing his insights into the types of training needed to insure the safety and survival of a company's employees, management, property, and public image.

"Hiring a consultant to train your people how to survive violence in the workplace is not the same as hiring other types of trainers," says Miller, who has taught both here in the United States as well as Canada, Germany, South Korea, and Japan.  "If you find that a sales training program doesn't work for example, you can simply hire another expert with another program."  But, Miller points out, if you find out that your workplace violence training doesn't work, it's already too late!

Miller's introductory program is also available for in-house training or for companies and organizations who would like to sponsor an event nationally or abroad.  In the wake of three catastrophic incidents, as well as others that have happened across the country in the past several weeks, human resources, training, and safety managers representing companies of all sizes are looking to add this critical missing element to their employee training.  This program will give them a much-needed starting point and a chance to discuss this topic with a seasoned expert.
