New book from Cliff Robertson

April 24, 2009 - PRLog -- Details of the novel released today by Cliff's press agent read: "Archie Winterbottom, known to all as ’Sniffy’, a name he attracted at school that stuck, is a modern day Walter Mitty.  His lies and deception land him in awkward situations repeatedly.  When he tries to get out of the holes he invariably digs for himself he usually only succeeds in making matters worse.  He is verging on alcoholism, and his daily intake of alcohol fuels his deceptions to the point where he has trouble recognising truth from fiction.  
Under the influence of drink, and only hours after proposing to his pregnant girlfriend, the daughter of a rich local builder, he makes a date with a nurse from the local hospital that is treating him for an injury received after yet another bender.  Archie, for all is faults loves his girlfriend and he is more concerned with getting a free meal from the date but the nurse expects more and it ends in inevitable chaos.
Despite everything, the wedding goes ahead with the father of the bride sporting a black eye.  However, does Archie have the capacity to change as fatherhood approaches? "
