April 21, 2009 - PRLog -- We all at Today Travel Asia are pleased to confirm that business here in Thailand is continuing as usual with no disruption to normal life for both Thais and Tourists enjoying this spectacular country. The red shirts have disbanded, the tanks and soldiers are off the streets and the full transport network is flowing freely, including flights.

Many people have been enjoying the Annual Festival of Songkran or Thai New Year (the equivalent of Xmas Day and New Year in one go!). This is a period of rebirth ushering in the new and saying fair well to the old. This is celebrated by cleaning or washing with water everything and anything. This now has turned into the biggest excuse for mass water fights across the country, which given this is the height of the hot steamy Thai summer is a welcome relief to the heat + is just good plain fun. Truck loads of people travel around the towns and cities looking for likeminded people in their own trucks or on street corners and then the fun begins – water everywhere, water pistols, guns, buckets or any container you can get your hands on. This is generally followed up by lashings of baby power spread liberally over each other (to show they like you) and sometime added to by shampoo. The tone is friendly, non aggressive and should you simply not want to partake you can avoid the known areas or simply say no!

There is still officially a 'state of emergency' in Bangkok and some districts of five nearby provinces but this has caused some 10 foreign governments to declare Thailand a no go zone for Tourists. However, be assured that this is a precautionary measure and actually the risks are nominal. There are no big crowds of redshirted people protesting, no army on the streets and everything, including the bad traffic here in Bangkok is back to normal.

Like Songkran, Thailand is experiencing a rebirth. A rebirth from the political turmoil it has suffered over the last 6 months. Thailand has moved on and is now stabilizing and now like no time before in Thailand's history, is there a better time to come to Thailand. Thailand offers incredible value for money and with a country set up for tourism, blessed with such beautiful people and scenery, this is a great opportunity you and your customers to see this country first hand, an opportunity you should not miss out on.
