For A Cause, LLC Announces First Charity To Focus On Testicular Cancer

April 20, 2009 - PRLog -- For A Cause, LLC announced today the launch of RubANut.com. RubAaNut.com is solely dedicated to raising awareness of testicular cancer, educating men how to detect it, and to raise money for funding its treatment and cure. For A Cause, whose goal is to raise money for overlooked causes, selected testicular cancer because men neglect the importance and simplicity of detecting this cancer in its early stages.

“Testicular cancer is being diagnosed at an alarming rate,” said Chris Cammack, president of For A Cause. “We knew that to get people comfortable with discussing testicular cancer, we had to put a spin on it, thus RubANut.com was created. My hope is that is gets people’s attention, and then they will want to do something to support the cause. Just getting the word out and inspiring self-exams is important.”  
 
Each year, approximately 7,500 men are diagnosed with testicular cancer, 350 of those cases lead to death.  It is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men between the ages of 20 and 40.  If detected in its early stages, testicular cancer is almost always curable.

Rubanut.com has selected the Lance Armstrong Foundation as its initial fundraising beneficiary. Founded in 1997, The Lance Armstrong Foundation raises and collects funds for the purpose of Testicular Cancer prevention, access to screening and care, quality of life improvements for cancer patients and research.

“It seems that everyone has embraced projects and slogans for female-specific cancers.  I am hopeful that ‘Rub-A-Nut’ will enjoy the same reception. Testicular cancer is here and it needs to be addressed,” Cammack added.
